Buildings hidden in the park

2021-04-13
It was originally continuous, and the vegetation-covered hillside was cut off by the quarry, forming a huge cliff-like stone wall. The dense rock walls, together with the dense surrounding acacia forest, constitute the unique landscape of the area. It is very spectacular to build corten steel structures in such places.

The corten steel building structure is a steel frame structure, the main building materials are rubble and corroded steel plates, and solid wood frame sliding doors. In this bare environment, corten steel is very suitable for use as the outer skin of the building. Corten steel not only has the characteristics of corrosion resistance, but also can resist high temperature.

The building is located at the relatively flat southwest corner of the site. The height difference of the site is used to construct a ramp connecting the roof of the building and the site, making the roof a platform for visitors to view the rock wall.

The building use of steel structures and shallow foundations reduces the impact on the environment. The corroded steel roof and wooden door leaf also give the building a natural texture, allowing it to grow in the natural environment.

The design uses the height difference of the site to construct a ramp connecting the roof of the building and the site, making the roof an observation platform for visitors to view the rock wall. The landscape echoes the weathered steel structure, forming a beautiful landscape.
